Two years ago, I officially signed the papers for my truck. It’s been a fun ride.

Couldn’t you get these with a v8.

I’ve heard the easiest way to check is fender badge-ing.

Is it the five cylinder? And if so is a good compromise between a 4 and 6?

No compromise.

But from what I’ve read the later I5 (3.7) is pretty good. Even better with a tune. That said, as far as economy goes it wouldn’t be a massive gulf to the V8, though obviously it all depends on how you drive it.

And of course either the I4 or I5 are a huge leap ahead of the old 4.3 V6.

Y’know that guy, he’s great and takes care of his family, is liked by many and does his best but he has a kid that is an utter toolshed? Yeah the Atlas 4200 I6 is that guy and the 3.5/3.7 I5 is the kid.

What’s your favorite and least favorite thing about the truck?

What kind of gas mileage do you get?

What’s your worst and best memory involving it?

Oh shit. That’s a can of worms with too many to decide on each side. Least favorites would be the lack of bolstering on the front seats, that one trim piece in the dash made from a different plastic so it squeaks, the lack of a locking tailgate handle and the turning radius of the QE2. Favorite things would be the engine&associated performance, the fact that it’s narrow enough to go almost anywhere, the looks, surprisingly good handling and the way it mows through snow.

I may not be the best person to ask on this... I tend to have a quite heavy right hind hoof. If there’s power to be used I’ll be found using it. With that in mind, I get on average about 16-17 l/100km average, maybe a bit better in summer and worse in winter. That is bearing in mind that I have a 15-20 minute commute every day where about 2/3rds of it is city and the highway isn’t what you’d call wide open. If I do anything else at all it isn’t difficult to break into the 14l/100km range, and here’s my best results.

Best memory, road trip this summer. 24hrs of awesome. Twice. Runners up: playing in the snow (first pic, among other things) and exploring (first and last pics) because I can spring immediately to mind. Worst memory is entirely my fault . At least it had a happy ending .

3.5 I’ll accept. 3.7 by reputation is a decent engine.

Ok, 3.7 is the kid after he finishes drug court.

OK, that I’ll take.
